Industrial-strength units are built to a much higher standard regarding material density and reinforcement. They utilize extra plies of high-tenacity synthetic nylon fabric and a thickened PTFE liner that undergo a specialized high-pressure vulcanization process. This ensures the loop can handle severe industrial pressure cycling and dangerous media without blistering, tearing, or fatiguing prematurely.
No, separate gaskets are not required. The PTFE liner extends through the inside of the joint and turns outward over the raised face of the rubber flange. This flared PTFE face creates a built-in, full-coverage gasket. When bolted tightly against your pipeline's mating flange, it forms an immediate, leak-proof, chemical-resistant seal.
The connector utilizes heavy-duty, free-rotating metal backing flanges. Because they spin independently of the rubber body, technicians can line up the bolt holes perfectly without twisting or putting torque on the rubber and PTFE bellows during installation. Furthermore, their thick profile ensures uniform bolt pressure distribution, eliminating localized gaps that cause leaks.
